Make your own bespoke tenor ukulele in the beautiful Bay of Islands, Russell. Guided step by step with one of New Zealand’s premier luthiers, Christian Druery. Suitable for 6-8 people per course aged from 10 years upward.
In this intensive 5 day course you will learn the following.
• Read and follow a technical drawing/plan
• Use a range of woodworking tools safely and effectively
• Create and craft components and parts from wood
• Measure and assemble parts to a fine tolerance
• Prepare and apply finish.
• Produce your own tenor ukulele
All materials and tools provided.
Some previous woodworking experience is preferred but not essential. Bring lunch and a cup for tea or coffee, a pencil, eraser and notepad and a camera if you want to record the process. Please wear clothing and footwear suitable for a workshop environment.
Accommodation: We are able to provide a favourable rate for food and accommodation at the iconic Duke of Marlborough. $140.00 a night, single room, includes dinner and breakfast.
